A Poem Tribute To My Late Cousin:

My cousin was trooper…
And nothing less,
An extraordinary being who
continued
to give his best,
while overcoming more than
his fair share
of life’s most challenging
test.
My cousin was a trooper…
I tell you no lie,
And all the fond memories I
have of him
makes it hard to say good-bye.
For he was more than just
another
cousin you see…
He was a man who lived a
life of integrity,
with a beautiful soul and the
kindest personality.
One of my favorite cousins he
was to me,
who I was proud to call my
family.
My cousin was a trooper…
There’s no doubt in my mind,
Not an ordinary trooper…
one in a million…one of a
kind.
Through all his
long-suffering I never
knew him to complain.
Where most people would have
given up
somehow he was able to
maintain…
a spirit of faith, hope &
love,
despite his long journey of
declining health
and much enduring pain.
So in exchange for his
attitude of gratitude,
and positive prospective
toward life,
God sent him a triple blessing
all rolled up as one...
A guardian angel in the form
of his
care-taker, friend &
wife.
Yes my cousin was a
trooper...
To that I can attest,
And the flag in my heart now
flies at half-staff
As we lay him to his final
rest.
