The Antidote to Fear

The only guaranteed failure
is being afraid to stumble and fall....
Stuck in stagnation,
no forward movement at all....

Paralyzed by over analyzed
intellectual stimulation...
Gripped by the stronghold
of procrastination....

Unable to see clearly the path
to your desired destination....
Sucked into the emotional vortex
 of frustration, irritation, and aggravation....

Ahhhh...then in steps Faith to the rescue....
The only surefire thing
that can help you....

Faith will lift the heavy clouds
of hopelessness and despair....
And show you the beauty and blessings
in life that were already there....

Faith liberates...
It shifts your conscious awareness,
causing your thoughts to elevate....
It is the quiet confidence
within that motivates....

Faith reminds you that despite your age
or circumstances it is NEVER too late....
To move forward toward your goals
and dreams in life
where you used to hesitate....

Faith reassures you
that with God on your side,
failure is NOT your fate...

You see, faith is the antidote
to overcoming fear....
It makes your doubts disappear,
and gives you strength to persevere....

It makes the bridge between
where you are and wanna be
suddenly appear....
Faith allows you to see the glorious
future that lies ahead of you,
shining bright and crystal clear.

Fear or the Fruit of the Spirit?:You Cannot Serve two Masters

In Mathew 6:24, Jesus said, " You cannot serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

Here are a few more examples besides money where I have found the overall point of this scripture to ring true:

1.) You cannot walk in faith and maintain a spirit of fear or hold onto fear thoughts at the same.

2.) You cannot trust God and worry or fret over the appearance of lack in any situation or circumstance that may show up in your life at the same time.

3.) You cannot demonstrate the spirit of power, love and sound mind in which God has given us and operate from a spirit of fear, which He has NOT given us, at the same time.

4.) You cannot remain stuck in stagnation and procrastination as a slave to fear of failure and expect to see progress or success of any kind at the same time.

5.) You cannot fear what man can do to you and trust God to uphold his promise to NEVER leave or forsake you at the same time.

In other words, fear and Love...fear and Faith...fear and Trust...fear and Power...fear and Courage...fear and Peace...fear in the face of anything that aligns with the fruit of the Spirit and your rightful inheritance as a child of the Most High (God) is like oil and water. They do not and will not mix.

Until next time...I surround you in Love & Light!

Today is Your Day

Today is MY day! Today is the day I become the answer to my own prayers by boldly stepping out on faith and putting my faith into action toward accomplishing my goals.

Today is MY day! Today is the day I stand tall with the confidence and assurance that God is indeed real and is with me and for me in ALL things allowing NOTHING to come against me and prosper.

Today is MY day! Today is the day I, FEARLESSLY rather than fear-fully, look squarely in the face of any "giant-like" situation in my lifepull back my sling of truth attacking it with my five smooth stones of Faith, Love, Spiritual Strength, Divine Wisdom, and Trust in God. With the power of visualization through my minds eye, called imagination, I see each giant like situation in my life fall powerlessly to its death.

Today is MY day! Today is the day I prepare and expect to receive my good and live my life more abundantly; overcoming all appearance of obstacle or adversity while claiming my absolute victory.

Today is My day! Today is the day I see the solution and resolution to every long standing problem or circumstance finally revealed to me. Today is the day I open my eyes with the ability to clearly see; all the beautiful, bountiful, blessings of God that are everywhere present around me at all times, thanking God for my portion of His goodness and grace that is both constant and sublime.

Today is My day! Today is the day I...Put an end to all stressing...See every burden in my life transformed into a blessing...Every area of stagnation move forward and start progressing. And today I am now professing...It is DONE! D.O.N.E.- Divine Order Now Expressing.

And since this day was created by God everything I mentioned above applies not only to me and my day but to you and your day too.

Until next time...I surround you in Love & light!

Characteristics of a Winner

In every winner there's a desire,
to do what is said cannot be done;
A persistence to win the race that
others believe cannot be won

There's an attitude others simply
do not understand
that says, " the power to create my destiny
lies within my own hands!"

If there's a will you can believe a winner
will find the path that leads the way;
And the words, "I can't"
are words you'll never hear
a winner say

The power to manifest and turn dreams
into reality,
is the power every winner has deep
within and holds onto passionately

In every winner there's a hunger
that's not easily satisfied,
that keeps them affirming;
"To prosper is my divine right,
therefore I will not be denied!"

Winners give their very best
at all that they do
So look inside yourself and know
that a winner lives in you

In Thee I Trust

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
 ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

In thee I put my trust O'Lord,
to direct my path through life
and show me which way to go;
To use every challenge or adversity
I face to strengthen me
 and help me grow

In thee I put my trust O'Lord,
in times of disappointment and despair;
to fill my heart with the comfort of
your love that reminds me
in all things you are there

In thee I put my trust O'Lord,
be it my bleakest days or
 darkest nights;
to reignite the flame of hope
in my heart and guide me
with your eternal light

In thee I put my trust O'Lord,
to always restore my faith
and make me whole;
to let nothing rob the peaceful
calm of my soul,
to teach me patience and help me
understand

All things happen for a reason,
to everything there is a season
Yet,  no situation that unfolds
in my life is ever void
of your master plan

More Than a Conqueror

Seeking to be better not bitter,
I let go of the past...
'Cause I know pain is temporary,
and the hurt won't last.

So I...forgive all ills...
Surrender my hopes and dreams
to God's Will...
Keep moving forward with my life,
'Cause there's no time
for standing still.

Lifting my voice and hands to Thee...
Proclaiming every ungodly thing
around me shall flee...
Allowing God to purify all
negative thoughts and energy...
Letting nothing block the good
I know He has for me.

Pressing forward toward the goal and prize
 to my glorious destiny...
'Cause I am more than a conqueror...
Born to triumph in victory.

Until next time...I surround you in LOVE & light! So always keep your heart open and let your love light shine bright.

Consciously Creating Your Day and Truly Living it

"This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"
~ Psalm 118:24

If you had just discovered that today was the last day of your life how would you choose to live it out? Who or what kind of people would you choose to be around to spend the last few precious hours of your life with? What kind of thoughts would you keep? What memories would you choose to focus on in your final hours? What experiences from your past would you want to recall in your mind to hold on to that impacted your life the most?

Would you waste the last twenty four hours of life dwelling on all the negative things from your past? Or would you choose to use your final hours more wisely by resolving to clean your emotional house through forgiveness of all ills of the past and opening your heart to fully experience and express love again one last time?

Well, why wait until the last day of your life to do all the above. Why continue going through your day being pushed, pulled, reacting to and ingesting whatever is thrown at you from your external environment? This doesn't have to be your reality anymore. You have the power within you now to consciously create the kind of day you desire to experience. And it all starts by consciously choosing what you want to see, experience and feel about your day regardless of what happens around you or what anyone says or does to you.

Another way to set your best day in motion and truly living it is by controlling what goes into your consciousness from the first moment the day starts. For example, instead of turning on the tv or radio before you even brush your teeth or have your coffee, try taking a few minutes after waking up to sit still, be quiet and get centered. Even the holy scriptures tells us in Isaiah 30:15, "In quietness and in hope shall be your strength".

So tomorrow when you wake up, try being still for a few minutes. Listen to the small voice of your spirit whispering words of wisdom to your soul. Connect with the vibration of love in your heart center. Focus on the rhythm of each breath you take. As you inhale and exhale allow the feeling of gratitude to permeate your entire body. Embrace the realization that you are experiencing the presence and power of God in each breath of life you breathe. Close your physical eyes and consciously visualize how you want your day to unfold by first seeing it unfold as you desire through your minds eye. Then release that vision and the desired outcome of your day to the universe. Go on about your day trusting in the divine process to work out all the details in a perfect way.

Why continue coming home at the end of the day frustrated by people and things outside of you. Choose to no longer allow things outside of you, and your thoughts about how you feel about what's happening outside of you, to dictate whether your day is good or bad. Decide for yourself how you wanna feel about your day by deciding the kind of day you want to have from the moment the day begins.

After all, every creation starts as a thought visualized in the mind before manifesting in the physical.  Yet, for those who may think this sounds like a bunch of metaphysical mumble jumbo. Remember, the highest creation ever manifested began as a thought in the divine mind of God. That  most powerful divine thought I'm referring to was manifested in the physical expression as the human race, which includes you and me.

With that said, I invite and encourage you to take a listen to the short video excerpt attached below of an online seminar by spiritual enlightenment teacher and author,  JZ Knight, for more insight on, Consciously Creating your Day and Truly Living it. Then go create the kind of day that will bring the most peace, love, joy, honor and fulfillment to yourself and those around you. While your at it, embrace the goodness of the day as if it was the last day of your life. See it...believe it...achieve it!

Until next time...I surround you in Love & Light! So remember to keep your love light on.

Dare to Stretch Your Faith: A 40 Day Challenge That Will Transform Your Life

Although I have many things in my life for which I deeply appreciate and feel grateful for, I have to admit that I'm still not yet where I'd like to be. Nor do I feel I'm expressing at the level of all that I know I have the potential to become. Truth is, no matter how much we accomplish or how much older we get, as long as we are still alive and on the journey of  this human experience there is always room for growth. There is always more we can learn to help us evolve to the next level of spiritual awareness to become a better version of ourselves.

There is always room for us to learn how to love more deeply and unconditionally. We can always learn how to be more compassionate and express more patience with ourselves and others. There is always room to over come some fear we're secretly struggling with that's blocking us from achieving a goal, realizing a dream or living at the level of spiritual awareness we would like to be at. We can always learn how to experiencing a greater level of joy and happiness in our lives. And no matter how spiritual we may consider ourselves to be, there is always room to stretch our faith a little bit more. I know this all rings true for me. If any of this sounds like you too then this Inspirational Love Note is written just for you.

Attached below is prayer of faith from one of my favorite books in my personal library, Until Today! Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind, by Bestselling Author, Inspirational Speaker, New Thought Spiritual Teacher and TV Personality, Iyanla Vanzant. I have been using this prayer for the few days during my daily prayer and meditation time and have already seen results in my life. In addition, I have been led in my spirit to take a challenge of  faith by continuing to say this prayer for the next 40 days and see how God proves Himself by helping me grow in my faith and transform my life from the inside out.

I invite you join me on this journey to greater faith and life transforming experience by committing to take this 40 day faith challenge as well. It's easy! And it only takes about 5 minutes of your time every morning and every night with potential results that I'm sure will prove to be well worth your time and effort.

Just use the prayer I've shared with you below, by Iyanla Vanzant, and say it every morning upon awaking and every night before retiring to bed for the next 40 days. Beware however, this prayer is a very powerfully written prayer. And as with any prayer for transformation in your life, if you say it with conviction believing in your heart to see results, things may suddenly appear to go wrong in your life circumstances. If this should happen, don't stop doing the prayer.

In fact, that is the moment you should dig your heels in deeper and continue the prayer with even greater conviction of heart because that is sign it is working. Whenever begin doing spiritual work that stretches us beyond our comfort zones and moves us to a new level of personal growth and development, there is often the appearance of chaos just before the new order sets it. Another way of  conveying this concept is the old saying, it's always the darkest just before the dawn.

So hang in there because should you take this challenge it's important that you stay committed and not break the 40 Day chain of thought, as it takes 40 days for the spiritual transformation to be completed. And there are various ways that transformation may take form in your life. It may be a mental transformation where you begin change your perception about a person or situation in your life for the better. Or an emotional transformation compelling you to forgive something or someone where your unforgiveness has been keeping you blocked or holding you back from receiving your own blessings and greater good.

It may also come in the form of a transformation in a long standing health situation you've been praying to see turned around. Or a relationship transformation you've desired to see mended and have harmony between you and the other person involved restored. Then of coarse it may be a physical transformation in the form of a job you've been in need of suddenly manifesting. Or a breakthrough with a goal or dream you've been waiting to see materialize finally start to move forward showing signs of success. My point is, there is a myriad of ways God can prove Himself and transform your life through your commitment to taking this 40 Day challenge to stretch your faith.

Remember, when you take one step toward God, He will take two steps toward you. So consider your commitment to taking this 40 Day Faith Challenge one very big step toward God on your behalf.

I'm excited to take this challenge with you. I'm also looking forward to hearing from you and sharing with you all the wonderful life transforming changes that I'm expecting to see unfold in my life and yours as we take the next 40 days to stretch our faith together. You can share your comments and feedback on the transformations that begin to occur in your life as a result of taking this challenge either here on my blog or in my Inspirational Poems & Love Notes group page on FaceBook if you're already signed up as a member there. Don't forget, as with anything in life, it only works if you work it.

Prayer of Faith:

"I now call the activity of the Holy Spirit into every cell, every tissue, every organ of my being. I invite the Holy Spirit to lovingly transform every energy, every belief, every idea, every understanding, every decision, every expectation, every judgment, every motivation and every behavior, bringing them into alignment with the perfect will of God, so that I may take the next step toward the divine plan for my life.

I now call the activity of the Holy Spirit into every cell, every tissue, every organ of my being. I invite the Holy Spirit to lovingly transform every energy, every belief, every idea, every understanding, every decision, every expectation, every judgment, every motivation and every behavior, bringing them into alignment with the perfect peace of God, so that I may take the next step toward the divine plan for my life.

I now call the activity of the Holy Spirit into every cell, every tissue, every organ of my being. I invite the Holy Spirit to lovingly transform every energy, every belief, every idea, every understanding, every decision, every expectation, every judgment, every motivation and every behavior, bringing them into alignment with the perfect love of God, so that I may take the next step toward the divine plan for my life. For all I have received and all that is yet to come, I am so very grateful! And So It Is!" ~ Iyanla Vanzant

The Spirit of a Trooper

A Poem Tribute To My Late Cousin:
 Vincent E. Lang

Sunrise - May 4, 1959   Sunset - August 18, 2013

My cousin was trooper…
And nothing less,
An extraordinary being who continued
to give his best,
while overcoming more than his fair share
of life’s most challenging test.

My cousin was a trooper…
I tell you no lie,
And all the fond memories I have of him
makes it hard to say good-bye.
For he was more than just another
cousin you see…
He was a man who lived a life of integrity,
with a beautiful soul and the kindest personality.
One of my favorite cousins he was to me,
who I was proud to call my family.

My cousin was a trooper…
There’s no doubt in my mind,
Not an ordinary trooper…
one in a million…one of a kind.
Through all his long-suffering I never
knew him to complain.
Where most people would have given up
somehow he was able to maintain…
a spirit of faith, hope & love,
despite his long journey of declining health
and much enduring pain.

So in exchange for his attitude of gratitude,
and positive prospective toward life,
God sent him a triple blessing
all rolled up as one...
A guardian angel in the form of his
care-taker, friend & wife.

Yes my cousin was a trooper...
To that I can attest,
And the flag in my heart now
flies at half-staff
As we lay him to his final rest.

Don't Let Go

Whatever happens don't let go of God's hand...
No matter how it looks or feels
keep trusting in the Master Plan...
When it seems impossible for you to do,
know that the Most High can

Some say seeing is believing
I say, don't believe everything you see
No matter what the human condition may be...
Proclaim God as your entire reality
Cause giving up is not an option
and failure is not your destiny

Through sickness and health...
poverty and wealth
The Most High does not lie
An awesome provider he promised to be
And I've never seen the day he failed
to do so perfectly

Though you shall walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned...
Where wisdom is needed,
he gives a spirit to discern...
To the broken hearted,
you shall see new love return...
For His Truth we seek,
...His living water we yearn

Never give up...Never give in...
Be non-resistant as a river,
yet spontaneous as the wind...
Strong as an oak tree,
yet know when to bend

Look adversity square in the face,
and be not afraid...
For you are a child of the Most High God
...and of His image and likeness you're
magnificently made

So keep on livin and givin'
life your very best shot
Then after you're done givin' all you've got,
and absolutely sure you've done all you can...
Be still...just stand
And whatever happens...don't let go of God's hand.

Be Determined...Not Deterred

"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle." - Steve Jobs

I was recently watching the classic movie, The Wiz, a rendition of The Wizard of Oz produced by Motown starring Diana Ross as Dorothy, Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, Ted Ross as the Lion and Nipsey Russell as the Tin Man. I love this movie for various reasons, one of them being that no matter how many years goes by it never fails to bring back such fond childhood memories for me. The other reason, as equally important as the first, is the profound message this movie has that is both ageless.

In this classic story we find four very different people coming together from four very different walks of life. Yet, they are brought together by a longing and desire to fill a deep inner sense of emptiness. An inner void they each felt was a part of them that "they perceived" they lacked and needed fulfilled in order to feel whole and complete in life. A brain or rather to know ones own mind, to find ones heart, to realize and unleash ones courage, and to discover a deep sense of self and find that place in life where one feels "at home" are the many virtues, like many of us, the four main characters listed above in this movie all searched to find.

For example, Dorothy was very shy, full of fear, unsure of herself, insecure about her place in the world and very afraid to step outside of her comfort zone. So her journey to see the Wizard in Emerald City to help her find her way back home was symbolic of her searching to find her true self. She was really searching to find her true purpose in life and her sense of self...her inner strengths, which she did discover along the way as she followed the yellow brick road, which by the way, was symbolic of following your heart, your inner guide, your intuition.

The Scarecrow represented those of us surrounded by people who try to keep us from reaching our full potential by filling our heads with negative, critical thinking and comments. People who are always telling you what you cannot do rather than encouraging you to do those things you can do. People who are quick to shoot down your dreams by pointing out your limitations rather than celebrating your strengths. People who would rather see us remain followers than become strong leaders. People who hold us back from knowing our own mind by enabling us from using our own mind.

We all know people like this and they are the crows in our lives just like they were
symbolically portrayed in the movie as the only thing keeping the Scarecrow stuck on that pole and unaware of how truly intelligent he really was...that is until Dorothy came to help free him and helped him realize those crows with their negative, critical comments were the only thing holding him back from realizing his dreams and reaching his full potential. How many of you have some crows in your life you need to get away from in order to be free to follow your own mind, think for yourself, realize your dreams and reach your own full potential?

Then there was the Tin Man and he represented those of us who have lived life carelessly and made many poor choices along the way, especially when choosing a partner in our romantic relationships. As a result of living his life in a rather "heartless" way and having three failed marriages, he came to believe he simply lacked the ability to feel emotions for others in a caring way and therefore needed a heart. But he too just like the others was proven wrong. As they traveled along the yellow brick road together he proved several times to be a most caring and compassion person and friend.

Like the Tin Man, perhaps many of you have made several poor choices in life and relationships as well that have left you feeling heartless and unworthy of love. But as the Tin Man also discovered by the end of the movie with the help of Dorothy pointing it out to him, he was not heartless or unworthy of love at all. He just needed to be around other people who were better at helping to pull out the compassion in him. Perhaps all you need to let your love light shine is to choose better partners who bring out the best in you too.

Finally, they came to meet the Lion who was in search of courage. The irony to his part of the story was that as cowardly as he felt about himself, he always stepped up and displayed more courage than any of them every time they found themselves facing a threatening or dangerous situation. The lion was always the one to go to great lengths to protect his friends without hesitation, even if it put himself in harms way.

However, in the end he discovered he was not in need of courage at all. He was only in need of being put in situations that allowed him the opportunity to overcome his fear and make a courageous act, which is the true meaning of courage anyway. People who are courageous are not people who lack fear. They are people who feel the fear and do what is necessary anyway despite their feelings of fear. They are people who take control of their emotions and overcome their fear rather than allow their fear to overcome them. This is what the lions character represented in the movie.

Finally as they reach both the end of their journey as well as the final act of of movie, the good which Glinda appeared before them. She brought the moral of the story full circle by explaining to all of them that everything they were in search of and traveled long distances to see the wizard in hope of him being able to magically give them, was always already within them all along. This truth was especially proven true for Dorothy in search of finding her way back home.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Dorothy represents many of us in the movie. Like Dorothy, most of us have, at some point in life, felt lost, unsure of our place in life and desperately wanting to find our way to that symbolic place in life called "home". In fact, I will go even further to say that many of us still feel that way now. Their are many of us well into adulthood just like Dorothy who have yet to find that place where we feel like we fit in perfectly, where we feel confident, whole and complete.

Yet, just like the good witch Glinda (played by the late great Lena Horne) so beautifully conveyed to Dorothy through her classic song in the movie, perhaps all you need to find your way to that place within that is your "Home" is a little faith and to learn how to
"Believe in Yourself" as she also advised Dorothy.

With that said, I leave you with that classic song from this 1978 timeless movie with a message that is equally timeless. As you listen to the words I hope you will walk away feeling ever encouraged and inspired to follow you own yellow brick road to find your full potential and the fulfillment of your dreams. And no matter what obstacles, negative, critical people, fears, doubts, challenges or adversities that may appear before you to overcome along the way...never give up.
Be determined...Not Deterred! And above all....always..."Believe in Yourself" and one day you'll look up and discover that like Dorothy, you too will have found your way....Home.

To get the full message both conveyed as the point of this Inspirational Love Note article from me to you today and the moral of story in the movie, please a take a few minutes to click both video links below and listen to the prelude to the song and the full song in its original entirety both by Ms. Lena Horne. You'll be glad you did...

October: The Month of Zeal

"I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me. "
~ Charles Fillmore

Welcome to the month of October! We have successfully made it to the last quarter of the year. We have also transitioned from Summer to Fall in the last two weeks which is known as the Harvest Season. However, this is not the time to slow down, to the contrary, the Harvest Season is a time of working harder.

For example, if you pay close attention and take note from nature you will notice that during this time of year, the harvest season, the squirrels begin hunting for nuts at this time of year and store their surplus of food in the earth to prepare for winter.

Thus, this is what we should be doing at this time of the year as well. Like the squirrels we too would be wise to use this time of year for gathering, sowing and working harder to put aside our surplus of good as well, rather it be stocking up on spiritual food, money, etc. My point is, like nature, we too should be using this time of year to work harder and stock up on the things we'll need to prepare for winter and we should do this using the spiritual power of Zeal.

Continuing, as I have done all year, to share with you each month the one of the twelve spiritual faculties within us all, October is the 10th of the 12 spiritual power faculties, which is Zeal. The disciple of Jesus that represents this spiritual faculty is Simon. The physical location of the body where this spiritual power faculty radiates its energy from is the top of the spinal column at the base of the neck. This energy center vibrates to the color orange.

When we activate or use the power of zeal we feel motivated to move forward, forge ahead, proceed with enthusiasm, excitement and fortitude. At my church home, Hillside International Chapel & Truth Center, Inc, we have an monthly publication called, Daily Thoughts From The Hill.

In the opening statement for this months publication of this inspirational booklet, my pastor, Bishop Dr. Barbara Lewis King wrote, "Whenever we get an idea, Zeal is the power that urges us on. It is that burning desire that moves us to do something. Zeal is the key to the Christ consciousness. It tunes us in with the rhythm and harmony of the universe. It lifts us out of the ordinary. Without zeal, we do not have the zest for living. Without zeal, stagnation and death would prevail."

Purposeful Perspective: Letting Go...and Letting God

I woke up this morning with a new attitude,
grateful for what I have yet still yearning
for more spiritual food
Peace of mind and clarity in my soul,
'cause as of today...pursuing joy and happiness
while claiming my dreams,
has become my new life goal

I hear my inner voice of Spirit softly
saying to me, "the reason you desire
the things you do so strong & passionately,
is because they're not just frivolous dreams
but part of your Divine Destiny.
Pursue them with boldness
and fierce tenacity
And they shall come to pass...
surely they shall come to be

Let go of yesterday, for there's no room
for regrets of the past where you're now going
All you need is your faith, clear vision
and a spirit of knowing

Let the word of God be a lamp to your feet,
trusting in Him to guide you along your way.
He will lead you in the paths to the good life
where you'll be more than a visitor
'cause He's prepared a place
for you to stay

This is your season...now is your time...
Therefore you must move forward and not delay
Your life's destiny is now calling...
and to its great command you must listen,
take actions and obey

Humanity is waiting for the unique impression
your talents will leave on the world
and all that they are worth
So don't take the gifts God gave you
to your grave...leave them here
to be a blessing upon the earth"

Yes, I woke up this morning with
a new life perspective...
Fulfilling my purpose for living is now
my daily objective...
Allowing the God light in me
to be more potent and reflective...
Choosing to use the power
of my thoughts & words more selective...
Expecting results that prove
to be more rewarding & effective...
Trusting Divine Order to be my only directive.

"Thou wilt show me the path of life, and I shall be filled with the joy of thy countenance, with the pleasure of victory of thy right hand." ~ Psalm 16:11

The moral of this Inspirational Love Note message is to encourage you to leave all regrets over missed opportunities and situations you wished you had handled differently had you know what you know now behind. Leave the mistakes of your past in the past and take on a new perspective about your life from this point forward.

Starting today begin to wake up everyday giving the best you've got to the moment you're now in while pressing forward toward the glorious future God has in store for you. The key to doing this effectively is by Letting Go...and Letting God have His way and His will for you...in you...through you. By doing so you will soon see Divine Order unfold in your life leading you exactly to where you are divinely purposed to be.

Turn Your Lemons Into Lemonade

A few days ago I was making something that required fresh organic lemons as a main ingredient. So my boyfriend stopped by the store and picked some up for me. I only needed a few but instead he brought me a whole bag of them. So later that day I found myself standing in front of the refrigerator holding the door open while staring at that bag of lemons thinking, "why did he bring me a whole bag of lemons? I only needed a few now the rest of them are useless."

Shaking my head and laughing to myself I said, "God what am I suppose to do now with all these lemons?" Then I closed the door to the refrigerator and turned to the kitchen sink to wash some dishes when, still laughing to myself about the matter, I heard that "still small voice" of Spirit within say back to me..."use them to make lots of fresh squeezed lemonade."

At that point I began laughing hysterically out loud at the simplicity of such a clear yet profound epiphany. I say this because this revelation from Spirit was not just in reference to my quandary regarding the bag of lemons in my refrigerator. It was also a metaphor in response to a plea for help and guidance regarding a much bigger, more challenging situation, I was also facing at the time in my personal life that I had just prayed to God about earlier that morning as well during my daily prayer and mediation time.

So I laughed out loud in amazement at how awesome God is. In that same moment I realized the response I had just heard from Spirit, while standing at my kitchen sink trying to figure out what to with that silly bag of lemons, was also the answer for how to address the personal situation in my life I had prayed about as well.

You see, the moral of this story is that no matter what life throws at you there's always hope for turning the situation around in your favor. Sometimes we aim for a particular goal in life or pray for an immensely heartfelt desire to come to pass. Yet, what shows up in front of us instead is a situation that falls short of what we had envisioned and leaves us feeling like we've ended up with a bag of lemons. However, you can always turn your lemons...into lemonade.

Romans 8:28 in the New Living Translation says, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." With this being the case, we can take any situation or circumstance that looks and feels like a bag of lemons and trust that despite outer appearances of the situation, God is in the mist of it all working it out in a way that will prove to be something very good for us. We can trust that in the final outcome no matter how bleak the situation currently appears, it will always end up working out in our best interest and highest favor.

So take heed to the wisdom from Spirit that came to me regarding my own personal situation and apply it in your life as well. Take that situation that looks and feels like a bag of lemons in your life and see God turning it into a sweet...refreshing...delicious...organic...hand squeezed by our Most High God...tall pitcher of lemonade.

Remember...no matter how long it takes to see the change you desire in the matter or how old you may be God is still well able. As long as there will always be a God in control of all things in the Universe...likewise there will always be hope for any situation in your life to be turn around for the better.

In closing, I leave you with this uplifting song of positive lyrics, energetic delivery and encouraging message that only the incomparable India Arie can convey in her own unique way through the gift of music. The Door to Your Divine Destiny is Open...Are you willing to walk through it?

The door to your divine destiny is already open. The question is...are you willing to step out on faith and walk through it? Are you willing to go after your dreams with tenacity and sheer determination until they become your reality?

Are you willing to see the grand opportunities the changes in our countries economy presents? Are you further willing to maximize on those opportunities by taking that brilliant idea God gave you years ago off your "mental shelf" and execute it now, thus creating work for yourself and others rather than looking for work?

Are you willing to follow your passions with fierceness and fortitude until you discover for yourself where they might lead you? Are you willing to let go of your fears and apprehensions from your past and live with enthusiasm about tomorrow...fully present in today?

Continuing with the theme for this month on the spiritual faculty Will, we realize from the scriptures noted in my previous Inspirational Love Notes this month on the subject, that God's Will for us has been made plain and clear. We know now from those scriptures that God's Will for us is to, "have life and to have it more abundantly." We understand also from scripture that God's Will for us is to have joy that is complete in Him through Christ Jesus.

We also know through the scriptures that God has promised to give us the desires of our hearts if we only keep him first in our lives, loving, trusting & seeking him with all our hearts. Lastly, we know from Jesus in Luke 12:32 that..." it is the Father's good pleasure..." to give us the kingdom.

Therefore again I say, God's Will for us through scripture has been made crystal clear. He has already done His part by orchestrating the "Divine Design" for our lives from the moment of our conception in our mother's womb. To demonstrate His deep love for us even further He has already laid before us the perfect path of least resistance to the "good life" he has prepared and promised is ours to behold.

The door to your divine destiny is open. So the real question here is not in regards to God's Will. Rather, the question is are you willing to align your will with God's Will for you? Are you willing to step out on faith no matter how many times you've tried to achieve your dreams in the past and was met with the appearance of failure and disappointment. Are you willing to try again only this time having an "I will NOT be put off or denied that which is my Divine Right inheritance as a child of the Most High God" attitude.

Before I go, I'd like to share with you an excerpt from a monthly publication by my church home, Hillside International Chapel & Truth Center, Inc., called the Daily Thoughts From The Hill, written by Rev. Angela Harrington-Rice. In her message for last Wednesday, August 17th, entitled "I Walk Through The Open Door", she wrote:

"Sometimes the opportunity we desire is just beyond the open door. When we make the decision that we have had enough of what has been and no longer fear the "what if's," we will see the open door and walk through it."

She goes on to say, "...We sometimes fear the realm of the unknown and would rather stay in the realm of what we know. However, when we totally trust the Holy Spirit, we know that God is forever with us and will never leave us. And if we walk through the door to the other side, we will experience the table that God has prepared for us that meets our every need."

So what are you waiting for...perfect conditions in your situation? If that's your excuse then you're waiting is in vain because life is messy and the conditions of your situation will never be more perfect than they are right now. Yesterday is for letting go...tomorrow is but a dream...but today...Ahhhh...Today is for living.

So go on...step out on faith and walk through that open door to that new career in the field of interest you've always dreamed of working. Take that leap of faith through the door to that new relationship and give love another try.

Follow your passion through every door it leads you knowing God is with you every step of the way. Conquer your fears. Walk through that open door of opportunity set before you right now and don't look back even for a milla-second. Your divine destiny awaits you...so go get it!

As always, I love hearing your feedback. So by all means continue sending me your Love Notes...and I'll continue sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Spirit of Christ in you...and surround you in Love & Light!

Seek The Will of God...with Serenity

Continuing with this months theme on the 8th (of the 12) spiritual power faculties, Will and seeking the Will of God rather than forcing our personal will, three things came to my spirit while meditating on what to share with you as my Inspirational Love Notes message today. The first thing was the above subject title, "Seek The Will of God...with Serenity."

Yet, when I heard that still small voice within prompt me to write on the aforementioned subject topic, I asked God to reveal further insight and understanding to me on it from a Spiritual perspective. I asked God to help me more clearly understand what it really means to "Seek The Will God with Serenity" first so that I could more effectively convey this message to you.

Asking that question led me to do some research for you today. What I came up with first is that in order to fully understand the power in and purpose of the wise counsel of the statement, "Seek The Will of God with Serenity", we must first have a clear understanding of the word "Serenity".

According the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, the definition of Serenity is:

:the quality or state of being serene

So I looked up the word Serene as well from the same source and found the following definition:

:clear and free of storms or unpleasant change

Also, following that definition were a list of synonyms that were associated with the word Serenity. Here are a few of them: calmness, peacefulness, quietness, restfulness, stillness, etc.

So with this greater insight we come to understand that by definition the statement and title of this Inspirational Love Notes message, "Seeking The Will of God...with Serenity in essence actually means, To Seek the Will of God with calmness, peacefulness, quietness, restfulness and stillness...expecting to be made clear and free of storms or unpleasant change.

Wow...isn't that very powerful? Some how I get the feeling I speak more than just for myself when I say...I NEVER thought of it that way.

The second thing I was led in spirit to share with you as part of today's Inspirational Love Notes message is the ever popular Serenity Prayer. While I, like many of us, can recite it by heart I was compelled by Spirit to research that as well.

The more popular and familiar version of it as the official adopted prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous is:
"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference."

However, in my obedience to Spirit to conduct some research on it, I discovered that the above version we have become so familiar with is actually NOT the original version or extent of this ever popular prayer/poem.

So as a result of my research findings I share with you below the original version of the Serenity Prayer and author in it's entirety. As you read it, see how this complete version of it adds more depth to the message of it and more effective helps to convey today's Inspirational Love Notes message as well.

The Full Original Copy of the Serenity Prayer
by Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

The third and final thing I was led in Spirit to share with you as part of today's message to bring it all full circle is this spirit moving, soul stirring, peace giving church hymn linked below. It is so very eloquently performed by Kelly Price and entitled, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow".

In closing, as you continue to work to overcome, over-stand and wait on your blessings & victory in the situation that are long over-due, remember to "Seek The Will of God...with Serenity" knowing that while we may not know what tomorrow holds...we know who holds tomorrow.

As always, I love hearing your feedback and comments. So by all means continue to send me your Love Notes...and I'll continue sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Divinity of Christ in you...and surround you in Love & Light.
