October: The Month of Zeal

"I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me. "
~ Charles Fillmore

Welcome to the month of October! We have successfully made it to the last quarter of the year. We have also transitioned from Summer to Fall in the last two weeks which is known as the Harvest Season. However, this is not the time to slow down, to the contrary, the Harvest Season is a time of working harder.

For example, if you pay close attention and take note from nature you will notice that during this time of year, the harvest season, the squirrels begin hunting for nuts at this time of year and store their surplus of food in the earth to prepare for winter.

Thus, this is what we should be doing at this time of the year as well. Like the squirrels we too would be wise to use this time of year for gathering, sowing and working harder to put aside our surplus of good as well, rather it be stocking up on spiritual food, money, etc. My point is, like nature, we too should be using this time of year to work harder and stock up on the things we'll need to prepare for winter and we should do this using the spiritual power of Zeal.

Continuing, as I have done all year, to share with you each month the one of the twelve spiritual faculties within us all, October is the 10th of the 12 spiritual power faculties, which is Zeal. The disciple of Jesus that represents this spiritual faculty is Simon. The physical location of the body where this spiritual power faculty radiates its energy from is the top of the spinal column at the base of the neck. This energy center vibrates to the color orange.

When we activate or use the power of zeal we feel motivated to move forward, forge ahead, proceed with enthusiasm, excitement and fortitude. At my church home, Hillside International Chapel & Truth Center, Inc, we have an monthly publication called, Daily Thoughts From The Hill.

In the opening statement for this months publication of this inspirational booklet, my pastor, Bishop Dr. Barbara Lewis King wrote, "Whenever we get an idea, Zeal is the power that urges us on. It is that burning desire that moves us to do something. Zeal is the key to the Christ consciousness. It tunes us in with the rhythm and harmony of the universe. It lifts us out of the ordinary. Without zeal, we do not have the zest for living. Without zeal, stagnation and death would prevail."

With that being said, the theme for my Inspirational Love Notes that I'll be sharing with you this month through my articles and poems will be messages I hope will prove to be insightful, informative and encouraging as always. I further pray that by the end of this month after reading my messages you come away having a greater sense of empowering, positive and productive ways to use the spiritual faculty power of Zeal.

As always I love hearing from you and look forward to hearing your feedback and comments. So keep sending me your Love Notes...and I'll keep sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Spirit of Christ in you...and surround you in Love & Light!
