Sunday's Food For Thought:True Love Is Friendship On Fire

Most people are looking for or say they desire to be married to someone who is also their best friend. Well I actually have several people in my personal circle who have found and are married to someone with whom they share that kind of connection. And what I have come to learn from each of them, and my own life experiences too, is that you have to first become that which you desire to have.

In simpler terms, each of those married couples, in my family and friends circle, who also share the true love of their best friend, had to first learn to be a best friend to themselves before the universe attracted them into each others lives to become the best friend, lover, spouse and life partner to each other.

So while you're praying for...and waiting for...your true love to show up in the form of a best friend and marry you, practice the art of being a best friend to yourself first. Which means loving yourself enough to nurture and care for the needs of your own heart the way you're expecting and looking forward to your true love and life partner to do when they arrive.

Until next time...Remember to keep you heart open and your LOVE light on!

LOVE:Keep It Simple Like Children

Have you ever noticed how simple love is for children verses how complicated we make love as adults?

If you have children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old, pay attention to how they love. If you don't have children then sit back and observe your little niece or nephew that's within this age group. Or better still, think back to your own childhood between kindergarten and 2nd grade. Remember how open your heart was when you were that age?

Before their hearts are tainted and they learn, from the adults in their environment, to judge and have fear, the heart of a child is so honest, innocent, genuine, and pure. They say exactly what's in their hearts and on their minds unedited with no fear or over thinking it. They never send you mixed messages or confusing signals. They are very clear about where they stand on the matter...they either like you...or they don't.

If they don't like you they simply don't play with you. No unnecessary drama required. On the other hand, if they do really like you there's no hesitation, no second guessing, no holding back, and definitely no leaving you guessing or trying to figure it out. They're going to make it very clear through both, their actions and their words how fond of you they really are as the teachings of the Holy Scriptures says we are to do in 1 John 3:18.

They are also very good at knowing how to live in the moment. Unlike us adults who spend an excessive amount of time obsessing over all the various possible unwanted outcomes. And holding back from giving our all to opportunities, to love and be loved, that show up in our present because of negative experiences that happened in our past. Or we're stressing ourselves out worrying about a future we cannot control.

Children however, have no reference point of the past. Whatever happened at breakfast they've already gotten over and forgotten about by lunch...until we teach them to do otherwise. They also have no concern about or concept of a thing called, "tomorrow"

My 4 year old daughter is my living example of this truth. She lives completely in the now. She wakes up every day happy, excited, ready to give her all, and fully absorbing every good thing each day can bring. She remains consistently true to whatever she's feeling at the moment. And as a result of living like this her dominant vibration and mood is sheer happiness, pure bliss, and a sense of joy that just seems to bubble up from the depths of her soul. As if that wasn't enough to make you envious of her, the cherry on top is that she goes to sleep every night in total peace.

So when it comes to love, children have the same approach to it that they do to every thing else in life....they keep it simple. For example, remember when we were in elementary school and someone liked you or you like them. You would simply send a note to them or they you saying...

Dear (person of interest),

I like you. Do you like me too? Check Yes or No in the box below.

(your name here)

Simple. Straight to the point. End of discussion.

With this in mind, I think it would behoove us all to adopt the attitude and approach to love seen in children. We should more often tap into the child-like quality within us that children so effortlessly posses and express. If there's someone in your life you have a genuine interest in, really like, and enjoy being in their company, don't sit back secretly crushing on them letting time and opportunity slip pass you out of fear. Or even worse, because of a disappointing or painful relationship experience in your past.

Life is too precious and short to waste time being afraid because of your past or worrying about what may or may not happen in the future. The only thing that matters or that's real are the opportunities, blessings and miracles the universe is attracting to you now. Life is about living fully and taking chances. So on that same train of thought, don't waste time playing silly mind games either.

If you're both single and available stop playing hard. Let them know how you feel. You just might be pleasantly surprised to learn they've been secretly checking you out and admires you too. If they don't then stay positive and trust that the universe already has someone better suited for you on the way who does share a mutual affinity with you.

Either way, let us remember the lesson the little children have come to teach us, that we are created from love....we are creators of love...we are born to love. Love is our true essence. The nature of our core being. And when we deny ourselves any opportunity, big or small, to express love...be loved...or think and behave in ways that resonate with the pure vibration of love, we feel the discord of being out of sync and alignment with our true nature, that is love through our unnecessary suffering and pain.

When it comes to love it would serve us all well to follow the example of little children and just....Keep Love Simple.

Until next time....remember to keep your heart open and your LOVE LIGHT on.
