Healing Your Inner Child Through The Power of Forgiveness

Anyone who has children, or has worked extensively with children as a profession, knows that when they reach the toddler stage of development it's very common that they begin to "act out." Why is it then when we see a newborn baby or infant crying we recognize it as normal behavior yet we have an entirely different perception of a toddler having a tantrum? In fact, our initial response to a  fussy or crying infant is usually, "Awwww...don't cry baby." We then follow up that initial reaction by holding and coddling the baby while showering him or her with high doses of patience, love, attentiveness, empathy and compassion.

In contrast, when that once cute little infant reaches the stage of toddler and begins displaying age appropriate behavior for that stage of development as well, otherwise known as "the forbidden temper tantrum", all our patience, attentiveness, empathy and compassion goes out the window. Instead of giving the toddler the same understanding and patience we did during its infant stage, like probing to figure out the root cause of their undesirable behavior, we become frustrated and try to force them into having model behavior.

As a society we quickly blame the parents, especially the mother, as failing to properly discipline the child. Some people also place judgmental labels on the toddler behaving like this as being bad or spoiledAnd who thought it was a good idea to even go as far as to stamp this stage of child development as the parentally dreaded, "terrible twos"?

Truth is, just like the infant, a toddler does not have the vocabulary, understanding or emotional skill level yet to effectively express what they’re feeling either. So, in most cases, they are simply acting out some emotional or physical need or desire they are not getting. They have also not yet learned a better way to get their parents or caregivers attention to meet that need.

Just as likely, they may be mirroring the same behavior they see the adults in their life handle their emotions when not getting their needs or desires met. For example, they may frequently see mom and dad bickering, arguing and fussing with each other a lot. Perhaps the primary adults in the child's life are often screaming curse words, slamming doors, stomping or exuding negative angry energy and body language toward each other while the child is present witnessing the chaos.

Sounds childish and irresponsible? Absolutely! However, this is because, just like a physical child, adults have an inner child that occasionally behaves in this same childlike way as a toddler having a knock down, drag out, ugly, tantrum. And when they do it's usually for the same or similar childlike reasons a toddler does. If that sounds too ridiculous for you to accept or believe then perhaps no one ever informed you that emotional maturity is NOT synonymous with age.

Like a toddler just learning the use of language as a form of communicating its thoughts and feelings, some adults do not always have the vocabulary rage, communication skills and emotional maturity level to effectively and appropriately express their thoughts, feelings or desires.  Equally so, no one may have ever properly taught or shown them by example how to handle emotional situations and express their intense frustrations and anger in a healthy way.

More often than not, people who are well into adulthood still lacking the ability to respond rather than react to situations that arouse intense emotions, thereby resulting in them expressing their anger and frustrations like a toddler having a tantrum, is usually because they grew up in a home environment where such behavior was the norm.  In fact, library and book store shelves are filled with books written by experts who have done studies on human behavior and proven that, unless someone in our childhood teaches us differently, we usually take into our adulthood interactions with others the same social and emotional behavior patterns learned from our parents and childhood environment.

So in the aforementioned case of the adult still lacking the social, emotional and communication skills and abilities of a mature adult, they probably saw such emotional conduct and behavior demonstrated by the adults who raised them. If this is the case, they are most likely none the wiser that such behavior is inappropriate as an adult and pushes people away. Truth is, we are products of our environment which is why most of us reach adulthood still struggling with and trying to overcome issues and wounds that goes deep back into our childhood and is in desperate need of healing.

Unfortunately, in order to heal your emotionally wounded places you are required to also be emotionally vulnerable enough to face your wounded places within. For most people this is not an easy task to accomplish due to fear of being rejected, judged, criticized or looked down on by others once the mask is off and your wounded inner child has been exposed.

What's funny is when we see such behavior in other adults, that mirror the tantrum prone toddler, we tend to label them as “crazy”. Yet, when our own, childlike behavior or “inner crazy” comes out we excuse or justify it as venting or blowing off steam. But at the end of the day yelling, shouting, cursing, slamming doors and pouting, i.e. staying mad for hours or days at a time, is an adults inner child having a toddler tantrum.

So the next time someone says or does something that causes a disturbances in you or pushes your buttons resulting in you having an adult tantrum. First, remember they are just that, your buttons and you are the only one responsible for your actions or reactions regardless of what anyone else says or does. Second, remember the manner in which you choose to react or respond to something or someone is ALWAYS about you not the other person. It is a reflection of what's already going on inside you, not the other person. So own your "stuff".

Lastly, should you find yourself reacting to what someone says or does in a manner very similar to a toddler having a tantrum, remember it’s just your inner child reacting to a need or desire that’s not being met. Like the infant crying and the toddler pitching a fit trying to get mommy and daddy's attention to its needs, your strong childlike reaction is your inner child's way of getting your attention to its needs.

It is a direct indication of your inner child attempting to bring to your awareness the wounded places you are still holding on to from past hurts that are still in need of healing.  The same is true when you see this behavior in other adults in your life. And just like with a toddler it is best to calm down and respond NOT react.

And the best response to your inner child's cry for help and healing is to refer back to paragraph one of this article to the example of the infant baby crying. Then find some place private and quiet you can go to be still and embrace your inner child with high doses of patience, compassion, understanding.

Follow up by probing yourself, perhaps with the aid of a therapist if necessary, to uncover the root cause or reasons for your repeated undesirable, socially unacceptable, strong emotional reactions and behavior. Also, be honest with yourself, and those closest to you if necessary, especially if your explosive emotional episodes is jeopardizing your relationship with your spouse or mate.

Most importantly, repeatedly give your inner child the maximum doses of love and forgiveness you are capable of giving, no matter how many toddler like tantrums you continue to have along your journey to self healing.

Until next time...I surround you in love & light! So always keep your heart open and your LOVE light on.

The Power and Importance of Forgiveness

December is here already which means it's time for us to prepare our final farewells to yet another year that has so quickly gone by. In doing so, we also cross the bridge into another new year filled with excitement and uncertainty over the unknown possibilities of dreams still ahead of us to fulfill, and new wonderful experiences yet to unfold. And the best way to kick off  the new year is with a mental and emotional clean slate. Along with an open heart ready to embrace life and all the love that makes life worth living.

So to help you bring 2013 to a close in peace and enter 2014 ready to prosper, my Inspirational Love Note messages to you this month will be on, The Power and Importance of Forgiveness. Here's why....

The holiday season is a wonderful time of year that brings us together with family, love ones and old friends we haven't seen or  spent quality time with in awhile. Yet, this time of year often also reunite us with people we haven't seen or talk to in a while for a reason. That reason most often being due to a falling out, an argument, misunderstanding or mistake from the past that led to deep wounds, hurt feelings, and a broken relationship that now desperately needs mending.

However, while a relationship may desperately NEED mending doesn't always mean it's possible to do in every situation. Especially if  the damage done was severe and the offender refuses to apologize. Even worst, they may be unable to see the inappropriateness of their actions, words or behavior that resulted in the painful outcome. Or they just flat out and stubbornly don't feel they did anything wrong.

Yet, despite the pain the situation may have caused you to endure and the other persons unwillingness to at least meet you half way on the road to redemption, your lack of forgiveness of the person or situation causes you to suffer more than anything they may have said or done that caused your initial hurt. Holding on to grievances, resentment, anger, over things of the past does you a huge disservice and brings you absolutely no good.

In fact, holding grudges is a complete waste of your energy and time because it takes more energy to stay mad than it does to forgive and move on with your life. It also poisons your heart which blocks your blessings, keeps you locked in a mental and emotional prison, and over time can even begin to negatively affect your health.

So you see, in truth, forgiveness is NEVER about or for the benefit of the other person. Forgiveness is ALWAYS about and for you. Contrary to what many perceive and believe about it, forgiveness doesn't let the other person off the hook, validate, or excuse their behavior or offense. Nor does it prove them right and you wrong. Forgiveness doesn't even mean or require that you resume having a relationship with the person.

And it most certainly doesn't mean that you are weak and they are strong. It takes a great deal of spiritual and emotional strength and maturity to perform the act of forgiveness. Therefore, it is you who are proving to be the strong one by choosing not to allow the behavior of another to steal your inner power and joy.

Forgiveness free's your mind, purifies your heart, heals your soul, and allows you to move on with your life while continuing to let your love light shine. It also allows you to be more open and receptive to your blessings, use your energy more productively. Most importantly, forgiveness allows you to spend your precious time here on earth sharing your life with those who are truly deserving of being a part of it.  Remember, to error is human...but to forgive is divine.

Until next time I surround you in Love & Light! So always keep your heart open and your Love light on.

The Prospering Power of God in Action

Here's a testimony and demonstration of God's power, to heal AND prosper at the same time, that's absolutely too awesome for me not to share. I have not written and posted any Inspirational Love Notes until recently because I've been experiencing a health challenge with my eyesight for the last month. It has been extremely scary to say the least. I woke up one morning and everything was hazy as if I was looking through a very dense fog. Even scarier, I was home alone with my six month old baby girl when these symptoms first occurred. I could barely see her or how to care for her as my eyesight got worse throughout the day.

Over the course of the three weeks that followed, I woke up to find these symptoms continually progressing for the worst. Even with my glasses on I was unable to see clearly how to perform my normal daily activities like driving, caring for my baby girl Khaliah, cooking or even read anything. I immediately began taking the situation to God in prayer. More specifically, I prayed giving thanks to God in advance for the symptoms being reversed and my eyesight fully healed and restored to optimal health.

After seeing several doctors, of which none could give me a definitive answer to the problem, I was finally referred to an eye retina specialist.  He saw inflammation in my eye cells that left untreated would've resulted in permanent damage to my eyesight. So my family and I continued to pray. In addition, I also continued to stand on the scripture of Jesus healing the blind man, in Mark 8:22, and saw God doing the same for me.
Here's were God began to prove Himself through me by demonstrating His awesome, unfailing power to do what man cannot.

First Praise Report: Two of the first three doctors I saw waived the fees for their services. So all the examinations and test they ran for my eyes while trying to find the problem was done at no charge to me.

Second Praise Report: When I went to my follow up appointment with the retina specialist yesterday, ALL of my test results for the various serious diseases they were testing me for, like Lupus, were negative. The inflammation in my eye cells he saw a few weeks ago is almost completely healed and reversing itself. My vision has made such an impressive improvement and rapid response to the eye drop medicine he gave me in such a miraculously short period of time, that even the doctor himself was amazed.

He told me he could not explain what caused the problem. Even more puzzling to him, was that he could not explain how or why my eyes have shown such remarkable healing progress, especially in the short time frame of two weeks ago when he first saw me and prescribed me the eye drop medicine. In fact, he was so moved by my demonstrated faith in God that he took my chart back and waived his fee for my visit as well before I left.

Now that’s the Prospering Power of God in Action!

Don't Let Go

Whatever happens don't let go of God's hand...
No matter how it looks or feels
keep trusting in the Master Plan...
When it seems impossible for you to do,
know that the Most High can

Some say seeing is believing
I say, don't believe everything you see
No matter what the human condition may be...
Proclaim God as your entire reality
Cause giving up is not an option
and failure is not your destiny

Through sickness and health...
poverty and wealth
The Most High does not lie
An awesome provider he promised to be
And I've never seen the day he failed
to do so perfectly

Though you shall walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned...
Where wisdom is needed,
he gives a spirit to discern...
To the broken hearted,
you shall see new love return...
For His Truth we seek,
...His living water we yearn

Never give up...Never give in...
Be non-resistant as a river,
yet spontaneous as the wind...
Strong as an oak tree,
yet know when to bend

Look adversity square in the face,
and be not afraid...
For you are a child of the Most High God
...and of His image and likeness you're
magnificently made

So keep on livin and givin'
life your very best shot
Then after you're done givin' all you've got,
and absolutely sure you've done all you can...
Be still...just stand
And whatever happens...don't let go of God's hand.

Connecting the Dots: Final Thoughts for December and 2011

Congratulations! If you're reading this final Inspirational Love Note from me it means you made it along with the rest of us to the end of this year. It means despite whatever challenges, obstacles, or difficult circumstance that may have come up in your life throughout the year, you overcame them successfully. You made it to the finish line still standing...still breathing...stilling a live.

Therefore, even if the 2011 didn't unfold as you had envisioned this time last year or planned, you still have reason to celebrate tonight. Why? Because the despite all that didn't go your way this year the most important thing that did work out in your favor is that fact that you made it to the end of this year. Therefore, you are blessed and that in and of itself is worthy of celebrating tonight as we welcome in the new year.

Before we bring this year to a final close I'd like to take a moment to reflect back to the beginning and connect the dots of all the messages I've shared with you through my Inspirational Love Notes throughout the year. In case you're just coming aboard as a new follower. I began using my gift of creative writing through this blog website in January of this year to encourage and enlighten others by publishing my poetry and original articles here each month to share the knowledge and use of the 12 spiritual powers within all of us.

Let's look back and review those 12 spiritual powers so that you can remember them and take them with you into the new year to continue to use a productive way and see your life expand in a positive way and your most long awaited dreams come true.

In January of this year I introduced you to the 1st spiritual faculty which is Faith. So begin 2012 standing on your faith that this will be the best year of your life thus far with even better still to come. Go in February with an open heart because it the month that represents the 2nd spiritual faculty, Love. Know that with faith and love all things are truly possible. And no matter how much the odds appear to be stacking up against you never give up having faith in love because God is love and He promises to never ever give up on you.

With the power of your faith and and open heart filled with love enter March 2012 using 3rd spiritual faculty, Strength, which the month of March represents. Use the power of your faith and love to tap into your inner strength that will help overcome any obstacles and challenges that may arise along the path of your new year. Move through those challenges with perseverance and fortitude knowing that God promises to be with you in and through all things.

In April remember to get in touch with the 4th spiritual faculty of Wisdom. As you begin your spring cleaning take a few minutes each day to also get centered in Spirit and ask for the guidance, infinite intelligence and wisdom of the Most High to come forth in your consciousness and show you the divine right path and steps to take in your life that will lead you to right decisions concerning every area of your life. Trust me, you'll be surprised what God reveals to you that will change the coarse of your life for the better.

Remember that May represents the 5th spiritual faculty, Power. So by the time you reach the end of the first quarter of 2012, if you continue making good use of these spiritual faculties, you should be moving in stride. Use your inner/spiritual power constructively by taking control of your life and doing what you can do to the best of your ability and leave what you cannot do for God to work out on your behalf. Then go into June ending the first half of the year using the spiritual faculty represented by that month which is Imagination. Spend some time each day do as children do by putting the power of your imagination to use to visualize the life you desire to experience in vivid detail and color. Then release that vision to the Universe to unfold for you in the divine time and perfect way.

As we moved in the 2nd half of 2011 I continued publishing Inspirational Love Notes that explained the last six of the twelve spiritual faculties. So let's now review them beginning with July which represents the 7th spiritual faculty, Understanding. Sometimes life can be very confusing and situations can arise on our paths that leave us in a full state of indecision feeling completely perplexed.

Here is where the importance of this spiritual faculty come into play. In is in those moments in life that we need most to turn within and ask God to reveal to us the power of spiritual understanding. By doing so we can begin to see things more clearly and make better decisions without fear because we feel the confidence of that decision begin led by the wisdom of spirit and not our own intellect, judgment or limited perspective of the situation at hand. Instead, we can following the instructions in the book of proverbs that warns us to lean not on our own understanding but to turn inward to God for guidance and he will direct us and show us the lightened path.

August represents the 8th spiritual faculty, Will which simply means to pray and ask God to His perfect will for your life and allow His will to have dominion over our personal will. If you are born in the month of September you are born under the 9th spiritual faculty represented by this month which is Order. With order being the first law of the universe, use this spiritual faculty to spend time to bring order into your thoughts and your body by fasting from unhealthy foods and beliefs about your life that create toxins in your mind and body. Another good use of this faculty is to rid your physical space of clutter and bring order to your home, office and even your car. You'll be surprised how an orderly physical and mental environment allows you to see more clearly, think and make decisions faster and manifest things you desire in your life with more effective results.

This brings us to the final quarter of the year where October represents the 10th spiritual faculty, Zeal, which means to move through life with enthusiasm. November represents the 11th spiritual faculty, Renunciation, which is a time to release and let go of any persons, idea's, beliefs, relationships, or anything else that may have served a purpose for you in the past but is no longer supporting your personal and spiritual growth. Give thanks for the time it served you good then kindly surrender it back God with love and deep gratitude.

Then move forward in the final chapter of the year where December represents Life. Use the power of this spiritual faculty to close out the month and year remembering the scripture that says Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Put special emphasis on the last part of that scripture, "more abundantly" and prepare to move forward into the new year knowing that no matter how this current year ended the very best God has in store for you is not behind you but in front you still yet to come.

I hope my sharing these 12 spiritual powers with you along with the messages of my Inspirational Love Notes have been enlightening, encouraging. I pray that you feel the love I have poured into each article and poem published here throughout the year. Lastly, I pray that you find the knowledge and awareness of these 12 spiritual power faculties as helpful tools you will begin to put into practice throughout the coming year 2012 and beyond to live full of greater abundance and more positive experiences and effective results. I wish you a safe and joy-filled 2012 New Year celebration.

Until next...I behold the divinity of Christ in you...and surround you in light and Love.

Be Determined...Not Deterred

"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle." - Steve Jobs

I was recently watching the classic movie, The Wiz, a rendition of The Wizard of Oz produced by Motown starring Diana Ross as Dorothy, Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, Ted Ross as the Lion and Nipsey Russell as the Tin Man. I love this movie for various reasons, one of them being that no matter how many years goes by it never fails to bring back such fond childhood memories for me. The other reason, as equally important as the first, is the profound message this movie has that is both ageless.

In this classic story we find four very different people coming together from four very different walks of life. Yet, they are brought together by a longing and desire to fill a deep inner sense of emptiness. An inner void they each felt was a part of them that "they perceived" they lacked and needed fulfilled in order to feel whole and complete in life. A brain or rather to know ones own mind, to find ones heart, to realize and unleash ones courage, and to discover a deep sense of self and find that place in life where one feels "at home" are the many virtues, like many of us, the four main characters listed above in this movie all searched to find.

For example, Dorothy was very shy, full of fear, unsure of herself, insecure about her place in the world and very afraid to step outside of her comfort zone. So her journey to see the Wizard in Emerald City to help her find her way back home was symbolic of her searching to find her true self. She was really searching to find her true purpose in life and her sense of self...her inner strengths, which she did discover along the way as she followed the yellow brick road, which by the way, was symbolic of following your heart, your inner guide, your intuition.

The Scarecrow represented those of us surrounded by people who try to keep us from reaching our full potential by filling our heads with negative, critical thinking and comments. People who are always telling you what you cannot do rather than encouraging you to do those things you can do. People who are quick to shoot down your dreams by pointing out your limitations rather than celebrating your strengths. People who would rather see us remain followers than become strong leaders. People who hold us back from knowing our own mind by enabling us from using our own mind.

We all know people like this and they are the crows in our lives just like they were
symbolically portrayed in the movie as the only thing keeping the Scarecrow stuck on that pole and unaware of how truly intelligent he really was...that is until Dorothy came to help free him and helped him realize those crows with their negative, critical comments were the only thing holding him back from realizing his dreams and reaching his full potential. How many of you have some crows in your life you need to get away from in order to be free to follow your own mind, think for yourself, realize your dreams and reach your own full potential?

Then there was the Tin Man and he represented those of us who have lived life carelessly and made many poor choices along the way, especially when choosing a partner in our romantic relationships. As a result of living his life in a rather "heartless" way and having three failed marriages, he came to believe he simply lacked the ability to feel emotions for others in a caring way and therefore needed a heart. But he too just like the others was proven wrong. As they traveled along the yellow brick road together he proved several times to be a most caring and compassion person and friend.

Like the Tin Man, perhaps many of you have made several poor choices in life and relationships as well that have left you feeling heartless and unworthy of love. But as the Tin Man also discovered by the end of the movie with the help of Dorothy pointing it out to him, he was not heartless or unworthy of love at all. He just needed to be around other people who were better at helping to pull out the compassion in him. Perhaps all you need to let your love light shine is to choose better partners who bring out the best in you too.

Finally, they came to meet the Lion who was in search of courage. The irony to his part of the story was that as cowardly as he felt about himself, he always stepped up and displayed more courage than any of them every time they found themselves facing a threatening or dangerous situation. The lion was always the one to go to great lengths to protect his friends without hesitation, even if it put himself in harms way.

However, in the end he discovered he was not in need of courage at all. He was only in need of being put in situations that allowed him the opportunity to overcome his fear and make a courageous act, which is the true meaning of courage anyway. People who are courageous are not people who lack fear. They are people who feel the fear and do what is necessary anyway despite their feelings of fear. They are people who take control of their emotions and overcome their fear rather than allow their fear to overcome them. This is what the lions character represented in the movie.

Finally as they reach both the end of their journey as well as the final act of of movie, the good which Glinda appeared before them. She brought the moral of the story full circle by explaining to all of them that everything they were in search of and traveled long distances to see the wizard in hope of him being able to magically give them, was always already within them all along. This truth was especially proven true for Dorothy in search of finding her way back home.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Dorothy represents many of us in the movie. Like Dorothy, most of us have, at some point in life, felt lost, unsure of our place in life and desperately wanting to find our way to that symbolic place in life called "home". In fact, I will go even further to say that many of us still feel that way now. Their are many of us well into adulthood just like Dorothy who have yet to find that place where we feel like we fit in perfectly, where we feel confident, whole and complete.

Yet, just like the good witch Glinda (played by the late great Lena Horne) so beautifully conveyed to Dorothy through her classic song in the movie, perhaps all you need to find your way to that place within that is your "Home" is a little faith and to learn how to
"Believe in Yourself" as she also advised Dorothy.

With that said, I leave you with that classic song from this 1978 timeless movie with a message that is equally timeless. As you listen to the words I hope you will walk away feeling ever encouraged and inspired to follow you own yellow brick road to find your full potential and the fulfillment of your dreams. And no matter what obstacles, negative, critical people, fears, doubts, challenges or adversities that may appear before you to overcome along the way...never give up.
Be determined...Not Deterred! And above all....always..."Believe in Yourself" and one day you'll look up and discover that like Dorothy, you too will have found your way....Home.

To get the full message both conveyed as the point of this Inspirational Love Note article from me to you today and the moral of story in the movie, please a take a few minutes to click both video links below and listen to the prelude to the song and the full song in its original entirety both by Ms. Lena Horne. You'll be glad you did...

As always in closing I welcome your comments and feedback. So keep sending me you Inspirational Love Notes and I'll keep sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Spirit of Christ in you...and surround you Love & Light!

October: The Month of Zeal

"I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me. "
~ Charles Fillmore

Welcome to the month of October! We have successfully made it to the last quarter of the year. We have also transitioned from Summer to Fall in the last two weeks which is known as the Harvest Season. However, this is not the time to slow down, to the contrary, the Harvest Season is a time of working harder.

For example, if you pay close attention and take note from nature you will notice that during this time of year, the harvest season, the squirrels begin hunting for nuts at this time of year and store their surplus of food in the earth to prepare for winter.

Thus, this is what we should be doing at this time of the year as well. Like the squirrels we too would be wise to use this time of year for gathering, sowing and working harder to put aside our surplus of good as well, rather it be stocking up on spiritual food, money, etc. My point is, like nature, we too should be using this time of year to work harder and stock up on the things we'll need to prepare for winter and we should do this using the spiritual power of Zeal.

Continuing, as I have done all year, to share with you each month the one of the twelve spiritual faculties within us all, October is the 10th of the 12 spiritual power faculties, which is Zeal. The disciple of Jesus that represents this spiritual faculty is Simon. The physical location of the body where this spiritual power faculty radiates its energy from is the top of the spinal column at the base of the neck. This energy center vibrates to the color orange.

When we activate or use the power of zeal we feel motivated to move forward, forge ahead, proceed with enthusiasm, excitement and fortitude. At my church home, Hillside International Chapel & Truth Center, Inc, we have an monthly publication called, Daily Thoughts From The Hill.

In the opening statement for this months publication of this inspirational booklet, my pastor, Bishop Dr. Barbara Lewis King wrote, "Whenever we get an idea, Zeal is the power that urges us on. It is that burning desire that moves us to do something. Zeal is the key to the Christ consciousness. It tunes us in with the rhythm and harmony of the universe. It lifts us out of the ordinary. Without zeal, we do not have the zest for living. Without zeal, stagnation and death would prevail."

With that being said, the theme for my Inspirational Love Notes that I'll be sharing with you this month through my articles and poems will be messages I hope will prove to be insightful, informative and encouraging as always. I further pray that by the end of this month after reading my messages you come away having a greater sense of empowering, positive and productive ways to use the spiritual faculty power of Zeal.

As always I love hearing from you and look forward to hearing your feedback and comments. So keep sending me your Love Notes...and I'll keep sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Spirit of Christ in you...and surround you in Love & Light!

Worry About Nothing...Pray About Everything

Not a lot of words are needed for me to convey the point of my Inspirational Love Note message to you today. The title of today's message speaks for itself which is in essence saying, "If you gone worry why pray...and if you gone pray why worry."

So I'll keep it short and sweet today by simply leaving you with this scripture from (Philippians 4:6-7) which says, "Do not worry over things, but always by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ."

Lastly, to go along with the above scripture, I leave you with this beautiful 1986 classic song by Anita Baker and The Winans befittingly titled, "Ain't No Need To Worry". I think between you meditating on the above scripture and soaking in the peaceful melody and soothing words to this song, which I've linked below, both the title and overall point of today's Inspirational Love Note message will be amply conveyed to you.

In closing, I pray that you enjoy the song and that this message helps you go about the rest of your day overcome with peace and centered in the presence of our Most High God. Above all remember, despite your current circumstances...continue to...Worry About Nothing....and Pray About Everything

As always I love hearing from you so continue to send me your Love Notes...and I'll continue sending you mine.

Until next time...I behold the Divinity of Christ in you...and surround you in Love & Light!

The A.C.T of Life

Here are three principles to help guide you through the A.C.T. of Life:

ACKNOWLEDGE the presence of God within you daily through prayer, meditation, studying His word in scripture along with other inspirational books, blogs, music, etc. and fasting when led in spirit to do so.

CHANGE YOUR MIND if necessary from negative thoughts that don't align with the truth of who you are. Don't agree with or accept a "you can't do it" mentality from yourself or anyone else.

TRUST IN SPIRIT because God always wants and has the absolute highest and best for you. Therefore, He will always lead you to your highest good.

Remember and apply these three principles along your journey in life to get you through any appearance of challenges or obstacles that you may find yourself facing. Fearlessly speak the Truth of Gods word to any person or situation that attempts to bring negativity energy or adversity your into your life.

With boldness and great confidence remind yourself of Gods promise to NEVER leave or forsake you. Stand on the rock of truth given to us through scripture that with God being for you no person, situation or thing can come against you and prosper.

Above all hold your peace in the mist of the storm or appearance of the battle. Be still and A.C.T. like you know God is on your side keeping and protecting you in the midst of it all. Holding on to this truth walk with confidence through the day and sleep peacefully at night. After all, there's no need to worry or lose sleep over the situation because despite the outer appearance of the details involved...all is in the mighty hands of God. Therefore all is Divine Order thus ALL is well.

To help convey my message for you today please enjoy the lyrics to the powerful song I've attached below, "In The Midst of It All" by Yolanda Adams.

Until next time...I salute the Divinity of Christ in you and surround you in Love & Light!

The Benefits of Holding Your Peace

"He who spares his words has knowledge; and he who is patient is a wise man. Even a fool when he holds his peace is considered wise; and he who shuts his lips is considered a man of understanding." (Proverbs 17: 27-28 Lamsa's Aramaic Translation-The Ancient Eastern Text)

"Someone who is sure of himself does not talk all the time. People who stay calm have real insight. After all, even a fool may be thought wise and intelligent if he stays quiet and keeps his mouth shut." (Same scripture as above ~The Good News Bible-Today's English Version Translation)

My Interpretation:

Knowing when to hold your peace, choose your words carefully, and extend patience to people who are testing your patience, by doing the exact opposite, thereby letting their mouth get them in trouble, exudes wisdom and knowledge on your part. Even a fool is considered wise when he realizes when to be quiet and hold his peace.

So if your going through a situation where someone is testing your patience, your spiritual nature and your nerves....give it to God and don't wrestle with it. In doing so God will reveal to you greater insight and understanding for how to deal with the person or situation if you just hold your peace and remain patient & calm.

In the meantime ask God to give you a clean heart free of anger, resentment, and negative thoughts toward the person(s) involved and the situation itself. To help you get started listen to the lyrics of this beautiful song below by Fred Hammond and go in peace beloved.

Until Next time...I salute the Divinity in you...and surround you in Love & Light.

Awakening the Inner Child in You

Scripture instructs us through the teachings of Jesus, in Matthew 18:3, that we are to become like little children. Yet let us not confuse being CHILD-LIKE with being CHILD-ISH. Anyone who has children or has spent time watching and observing a child for a little while is sure to find that children have humble spirits with very vivid and colorful imaginations. Children also have open, receptive loving hearts.

In the mind and heart of a child absolutely nothing is impossible. This is why from a child's perspective they cannot comprehend the reasoning behind a parent or anyone telling them they cannot have something they deeply desire. I strongly believe this is the essence of what Jesus was teaching us when he said to his disciples that we are to be like little children and that doing so is the way into the kingdom of heaven.

I believe Jesus was in effect saying that like children, if we maintain having humble spirits, open and receptive hearts, and use the power of the colorful vivid imaginations that we also had as children to visualize the infinite possibilities life has to offer, then we too can see the deepest desires of our hearts manifest in a most miraculous way.

As long as your hearts desires align with the spiritual and universal laws of love, respect and the highest good for yourself and all involved, then just as a child would do, you too should hold to that vision believing with God absolutely NOTHING is impossible. After all, it is God's promise to delight in giving us the desires of our hearts as long as we keep Him first.

So go ahead...awaken the inner child in you and use the power of your imagination to envision a life beyond your wildest dreams. You'll be surprised by what you might see while you're there...and even more surprised by what you receive if you keep your heart open once you return from your imaginary world back to earth.

Until next time...I behold the divinity of Christ in you and surround you in love & light.

The Power of Forgiving & Living in the Moment

In Kirk Franklin's latest single called "Smile" the first sentence in the opening of the song says, "Today's a new day". And that is the heart & essence of my message to you today. This is indeed a "NEW DAY" and we each have a choice in how we choose to go through it.

We have a choice to either give our power away by going through the day holding on to old grievances of yesterday. Or use our personal power to forgive, let go, let God and have peace within rather the person you feel offended you apologizes or not. The power that comes from genuine forgiveness always blesses you more than it can ever bless the other person because forgiveness is ALWAYS FOR & ABOUT YOU and NO One Else.

Forgiveness is about calling your own spirit back after giving your inner power away by allowing the behavior or action you perceived as an offense against you by another to become so internalized that you became off centered and emotionally upset even for a moment. So I encourage you to choose the latter option. Choose to use your inner power constructively by forgiving and letting go which also means no longer speaking or thinking about the situation from this point forward.

Today's a new day, so choose to think new thoughts, feel new feelings, have a new perspective, radiate a new energy vibration, have a new attitude & experience the opportunity to love today in a new way.
Until Next time...
I Behold the Divinity of Christ in you & surround you in love & light. Peace!

Mind Control: You Hold The Power of Your Thoughts

In the highly acclaimed bestselling inspirational book, "As A Man Thinketh", author James Allen wrote, "The human mind is likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild. But whether cultivated or neglected, it must and will bring forth." In essence, this means rather we are conscious of it our not our thoughts have power. Yet, we are not powerless slaves to our minds. God has empowered each of us with dominion over our thoughts and the power to control what we think.

Rather we choose to use this God given empowerment to control our thoughts or allow our thoughts to control us is a decision we each make respectively. After all, God also granted us the power of free will. In either case, the thoughts we hold in our minds causes a chain reaction. What we focus on the most with intensity will eventually manifest resulting in a direct effect on our individual circumstances and experiences. With that understanding it's clear to see that it's in our best interest to become more conscious of the thoughts we hold about ourselves and others in our lives.

So, how are you using your mind power today? Are you cultivating and controlling your thoughts aligning them with the power of your imagination to see the highest good in all things for yourself and others? Do you take heed to the instructions of scripture that tells us in Philippians 4:8, "Whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things."(Lamsa's Aramaic Translation)

Are you using the power of your thoughts to stay focused on the positive despite what's going on around you? Do you fill your mind daily with reading material that helps you remember the Truth that God is your source, supply and infinite supplier? Are you standing on your faith in Gods promise to never leave or forsake those who belong to Him and trust in Him? Do you use your thoughts to affirm that regardless of how hopeless or discouraging your circumstances appear to be, God is your help in EVERY need?

Or are you going through life allowing your outer circumstances to control you by letting your thoughts run rampant like wild weeds in a field of negativity, worry, hopelessness and despair? If this latter question sounds like you know that it does your relationship with yourself a huge disservice and your relationship with God a dishonor to live life that way. As the saying goes, "if you gone' pray why worry and if you gone' worry why pray".

On the other hand, if you've been struggling through life on your own without having a relationship with God I encourage you to start one today. Contrary to popular belief or opinion, it's actually very simple to begin. You can start by going before Him in prayer with a humbled spirit and open heart. Then simply say, "Dear God, I'm tired of trying to figure life out on my own and cannot do this alone. I realize now that your ways are higher than my ways and your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. I need your help and guidance. Please come into my heart God. Show me your ways and I will make you my Lord and savior." It's that easy!!!

In closing, rather you already have a strong relationship with God or not I leave you with a few positive affirmations. If practiced regularly they will help you better cultivate your mind and control your thoughts in a constructive manner. Just take five to ten minutes to sit still and light your favorite scented candle if you like. If you prefer just silence with no candle that's fine too. Next, close your eyes and repeat each of the following affirmations three times.

1.) Infinite Spirit I'm open to you for guidance, come sit at the seat of my soul.
2.) Infinite Spirit I'm open to you for understanding, come sit at the seat of my heart.
3.) Infinite Spirit I open my mind to you for wisdom, come sit at the seat of my thoughts.

I encourage you to begin practicing these affirmations every day, twice a day (preferably upon awaking each morning and again before bed at night) for the next 21 days. The results may not be immediately noticeable in an obvious way but stick to it anyway. Like everything worth anything in life the effects of this mental transformation to achieve outer results is a process that takes time. So keep at it for the first 21 days. Then start over and continue saying them daily this time for 40 days and watch the major miraculous transformation you begin to experience in your life and affairs.

Until next time, I surround you in love & light beloved...Peace Be Still!

The Power of Non-Resistance

What many people fail to realize is that there is power in being non-resistant. If you’re not convinced of this truth then observe and take note of it from nature. When the gusty winds and storms come the trees do not resist. Rather, they remain flexible by bending and swaying gently with the flow of the raging winds of the storm allowing it to do its thing and pass on by. Then when the storm is over the strongest of the trees always survive and remain still standing.

Like wise, I encourage you to be like the trees. Practice the art and power of non-resistance. So that when the storms of life blow your way you too can maintain holding a calm, flexible attitude and posture. Remain grounded in your faith as you allow whatever storm in life you may be going through to do what it's come to do which is simply pass you by. Then see God bring you through it all like a strong tree still standing. After all, there is good that comes even in the mist of storms that usually show up as a lesson and/or blessing waiting for you just on the other side. ~ Peace Beloved

The True Place of Power

Contrary to what you've been told,
true power isn't in the position or title you hold.
Neither is it in money...
for it cannot be bought or sold.
It has nothing to do with being young or old...
or the level of physical strength you uphold.

True power resonates from deep within,
a gift from God given to us
with no beginning, middle or end.

To tap into this inner power
all one has to do,
is align your mind with Spirit and
let God's Higher Power permeate through you.
Yet be conscious of your words and thoughts,
for they have power too.
